Patricia Evans
A native of northern Vermont, Patricia began her studies on the horn at the age of ten. She studied at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music in Ohio, and later at McGill University, where her principal teachers were John Zirbel and James Sommerville. After leaving McGill in 2000, Patty was enrolled in a long-term residency at the Banff Centre for the Arts when she accepted a fellowship with the New World Symphony in Miami Beach, Florida. Patty has played with numerous orchestras in the United States and Canada. Some of her summer festival highlights include the Festival dei due mondi, in Spoleto, Italy and the Pacific Music Festival in Sapporo, Japan. Patty became Prinicipal horn of the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra in the summer of 2002. She is also Principal horn of the Manitoba Chamber Orchestra, and a member of the Northern Brass.
